Welfare Reform Bill [HL]

- To ask Her Majesty's Government what discussions they have had with the Northern Ireland Executive on the financial implications of a refusal by the Northern Ireland Assembly to accept parity with the changes to social security and housing benefit proposed in the Welfare Reform Bill.

At their request, an official from my department gave evidence to the Northern Ireland Committee for Social Development in March 2011 and set out the Government's position on the impact of any breach of parity. In addition, there are regular meetings at ministerial and official level to discuss implementation plans.
