- To ask Her Majesty's Government, further to the Written Answer by Lord Strathclyde on 27 February (WA 275), whether the Prime Minister will determine nominations for life peerages in accordance with the Government's stated policy of ““working towards the objective of creating a second chamber that reflects the share of the votes secured by the political parties at the last general election””.

The coalition agreement sets out the Government's policy on this issue. It is for the Prime Minister to determine the number of nominations for life peerages.
