Science: Israel

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills what discussions he has had with his Israeli counterpart on increasing scientific collaboration.

Answer: I met with the Israeli Minister for Trade, Science and the Environment, Minister Rabbi Professor Daniel Hershkowitz, and Israeli Chief Scientist, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour, Avi Hasson when I visited Israel in October 2011. Together with Minister Rabbi Professor Daniel Hershkowitz I announced the establishment of a new, joint fellowship exchange scheme to enhance collaboration between the countries in the area of regenerative medicine.
