- To ask the Secretary of State for Education how much his private ministerial office has spent on taxi hire in the last 12 months.

[holding answer 22 March 2012]: The Department has a contract with Addison Lee (a London-based private hire company). The total expenditure on private hire vehicles for the whole of the DfE Private Office in the last 12 months (from March 2011 to February 2012) is £15,989.Information about spending on black cabs and other taxis is not held centrally and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
