- To ask the Leader of the House, further to the Written Answers by Lord Taylor of Holbeach on 6 March (WA 400 and WA 416) regarding metrication of distances, whether he will ensure that, in future, equivalent distances in imperial units are always indicated in Answers to Written Questions and that such equivalence is adopted by all government departments.

This is a matter for individual government departments and one on which there is no central guidance. While I sympathise with the preference for imperial measures, I have no plans to issue guidance.
