- To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what her policy is on the period for which emails sent and received by (a) Ministers, (b) officials, and (c) special advisers in her Department are retained; and whether such emails are recoverable from the IT systems in her Department after that period.

E-mails in the Department for Transport are retained in accordance with the terms of The Public Records Act 1958 and the guidelines from the National Archive.
