- To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if she will establish a cross-departmental maritime strategy for the UK.

The Government have a strong cross-departmental maritime strategy. The overarching policy framework is provided by the Marine Policy Statement, published on 18 March 2011. The National Policy Statement for Ports was designated on 26 January, and the Red Tape Challenge is delivering simplification initiatives to support growth in the maritime sector.
