- To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what assessment he has made of the likely effect of the localisation of business rates on discretionary rate relief for charities; and if he will make a statement.

The Government's response to the consultation on business rates retention, published on 19 December, made clear that there will be no changes to the current system of reliefs, or to the criteria that determine eligibility.The Government's response is available on the DCLG website and can be viewed at:"http://www.communities.gov.uk/publications/localgovernment/resourcereviewgovtresponse"
