Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport how much his Department has spent on developing and promoting advice to parents on the appropriate use of television by their children in each of the last five years.
Answer

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has not directly funded the development or promotion of advice to parents about the use of television by children in the last five years. However, in that time the Government have continued to provide grant-in-aid to Ofcom in support of its media literacy activities, which have included projects and research to help promote adults' and children's understanding and use of electronic media. The grant-in-aid provided to Ofcom has been as follows:
