Olympic and Paralympic Games 2012: Olympic Truce

Question: To ask Her Majesty's Government what discussions the Scotland Office has had with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office about their plans for the implementation of the United Nations Resolution declaring the Olympic Truce for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Answer: There have been no discussions between the Scotland Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office on the implementation of the Olympic Truce. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is co-ordinating the Government's international response to the UN Resolution on the Olympic Truce in support of pursuing the Government's conflict prevention objectives as set out in the Government's Building Stability Overseas strategy. We will support the work of the FCO in delivering action together overseas wherever we can.
