Question: If the accident and emergency unit at East Glamorgan General Hospital, Pontypridd, is meeting Patient Charter requirements for waiting times in accident and emergency.

Answer: Dr. Howells: To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if the accident and emergency unit at East Glamorgan general hospital, Pontypridd, is meeting patients charter requirements for waiting times in accident and emergency.[22599] Mr. Richards: At 31 December 1995, 76 per cent. of patients were assessed within five minutes of arrival at the hospital's accident and emergency department. Over 90 per cent. of casualty patients were found a hospital bed within two hours of the decision to admit them.
