Question: What Government resources have been made available in each of the last six years for the development of conductive education in the United Kingdom. - Inc figures for educational support and training grants.

Answer: Dr. Lynne Jones: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what Government resources have been made available in each of the last six years for the development of conductive education in the United Kingdom.[25874] Mrs. Gillan: The results of a Government-funded research project to examine the effectiveness of conductive education were published in 1993. Since 1994-95, the amounts supported under the grants for educational support and training programme for special educational needs training have been as follows: 1994-95: £9.7 million 1995-96: £10.5 million 1996-97: £10.3 million. It is open to local education authorities to use this programme to support the training of teachers in conductive education.
