Question: If he will outline the steps that he thinks the UN Commission on Human Rights should be taking to address the continuing instance of human rights violations in Turkey.

Answer: Mr. Anthony Coombs: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will outline the steps that he thinks the UN Commission on Human Rights should be taking to address the continuing instance of human rights violations in Turkey.[27694] Mr. David Davis: The presidency statement at the UN Commission on Human Rights, to which we contributed, including a number of steps which we hope the Turkish Government will take to improve the human rights situation in Turkey. Agreement to fix a date for the visits by the special rapporteurs of the Commission on Human Rights is among these.
