Mr. Pickthall: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what contact his Department has had with district and parish councils in Lancashire over the role and responsibilities of the Environment Agency in Lancashire.[28647] Mr. Clappison: [holding answer 10 May 1996]: The Department consulted the local authority associations on its proposals for the Environment Agency, its scope and responsibilities.
