Question
What plans he has to ensure that independent scientific expertise is included in the membership of the Criminal Cases Review Commission.
Answer

Dr. Lynne Jones: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to ensure that independent scientific expertise is included in the membership of the criminal cases review commission. [30247] Mr. Kirkhope: The Criminal Cases Review Commission will have access to independent scientific expertise and will be able to request independent scientific tests and reports. It is important that the commission's members should reflect as wide a range of relevant skills and experience as possible, however, and we therefore have no plans to specify that scientific expertise must be included among the membership.
