Answer: Mr. Tony Lloyd: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the outcome of the conventional forces in Europe review conference.[30509] Mr. David Davis: The CFE review conference which ended in Vienna on 31 May was the first operational review of the CFE treaty. During the conference agreements were reached which resolved the outstanding implementation problems of Russia's non-compliance with the treaty's flank limits and with its commitments to destroy equipment east of the Urals. States parties also agreed to begin immediately a process of discussion aimed at promoting the objectives of the treaty and enhancing its viability and effectiveness in Europe's changing security environment.
