Answer

Mr. Spearing: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will list the names of drivers of motor vehicles not holding driving licences in the United Kingdom but holding licences of nations whose licences are recognised, who have been found guilty of driving offences where fatalities were involved since 1990; and if he will inform the relevant Governments of the name and licence number of the persons convicted, together with the circumstances of the accident.[32349] Mr. Norris: Information from the national driver licensing register is treated in strict confidence under the provision of the Data Protection Acts. Except for law enforcement purposes, information is not disclosed without the consent of the individual. The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency informs other driver licensing authorities of the details whenever driving licences are revoked.
