Question
On what dates, and for what amounts export credit guarantees were given by the ECGD in relation to the construction of a university in Oman. - Includes figures.

Mr. Meacher: To ask the President of the Board of Trade on what dates, and for what amounts export credit guarantees were given by the Export Credits Guarantee Department in relation to the construction of a university in Oman. [40172] Mr. Nelson: The ECGD gave its guarantee for a US$235.19 million loan on 30 July 1982 for the construction of the University. The scope of this credit facility was extended to allow the financing of a teaching hospital which was within the terms of a contract variation order. A further loan of US$20.69 million was signed on 14 July 1988 for that purpose.
