Question: If he will comment on the work done to date in the World Trade Organisation's Committee on Trade and the Environment; and what matters are currently on the Committee's agenda for forthcoming meetings.

Answer: Mr. Meacher: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the work done to date in the World Trade Organisation's committee on trade and the environment; and what matters are currently on the committee's agenda for forthcoming meetings. [40437] Mr. Clappison: The World Trade Organisation's Committee on Trade and the Environment has carried out analytical work in accordance with the decision on trade and environment adopted by Ministers at Marrakesh on 15 April 1994. It is currently preparing its report to Ministers at the conference to be held in Singapore on 9 to 13 December 1996.
