Question: When the subject of dietary supplements was last considered by the Codex Alimentarius Committee; and what policy was pursued by the British Government representatives in relation to dietary supplements at these meetings.

Answer: Mr. Illsley: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when the subject of dietary supplements was last considered by the Codex Alimentarius Committee; and what policy was pursued by the British Government representatives in relation to dietary supplements at these meetings. [3101] Mrs. Browning: The subject of dietary supplements was last considered by codex at the beginning of October this year, when further consideration was given to proposed guidelines for dietary supplements containing vitamins and minerals. The UK delegation at the meeting sought to ensure that draft guidelines reflected the approach currently taken in the UK.
