Question: Pursuant to his Answer of 7th November, Official Report, column 670W, relating to homework centres, if he will place a copy of the inspectorate's report in the Library; and what assessment he has made of the contribution of homework centres to (a) home school support and (b) educational achievement. - Includes fact that education and training inspectorate will conduct a further evaluation of homework centres during this academic year. This report will be published and placed in Library.

Answer: Mr. Worthington: To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, pursuant to his answer of 7 November, Official Report, column 670, relating to homework centres, if he will place a copy of the inspectorates's report in the Library; and what assessment he has made of the contribution of homework centres to (a) home school support and (b) educational achievement. [5158] Mr. Ancram: The education and training inspectorate's report was an interim report, not for publication. The inspectorate will conduct a further evaluation of the homework centres during this academic year, which will address, among other things, the contribution of the centres to home-school liaison and the schools' views on the educational progress and achievements of the pupils who attend. This report will be published and I will place a copy in the Library.
