What plans he has for the special transitional grant in 1997-98. - Includes figures.
Answer

Mr. David Martin: To ask the Secretary of State for Health what plans he has for the special transitional grant in 1997-98. [6778] Mr. Dorrell: There will be a special transitional grant of £325 million in 1997-98. It will have attached a condition which requires local authorities to spend 85 per cent. of this sum in the independent sector.
