Question: What plans he has to integrate the Prison Health Service into the National Health Service.

Answer: Mr. Bermingham: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to integrate the prison health service into the national health service. [8685] Miss Widdecombe: There are no current plans to integrate the health care service for prisoners with the national health service. We are, however, committed to improving health care for prisoners and believe that there is considerable potential for achieving better health services and better value for money by contracting with the NHS and other providers.
