Statement on what changes are proposed to the requirement in the Criminal Justice Act 1991 relating to pre-sentence reports. - Inc fact have decided to bring forward an amendment to Criminal Justice and Public Order Bill which will give courts a discretion to dispense with requirement to obtain a report where they are satisfied that they can properly sentence without one.
