- What guidance has been issued to joint consultative committees in respect of implementing community care policies; what roles they will fulfill; what guidance has been issued governing their make up of areas where opt out hospitals, purchasing authorities & health authorities co-exist; what steps DH plans to improve joint planning & joint working arrangements between local authorities & health care providers; if joint consultative committees rules & responsibility are uniform throughout England & Wales; what steps are proposed to avoid duplication of function. - Inc fact that statutory provisions relating to joint consultative committees including their composition are set out in Sections 22 & 28A of National Health Service Act 1977 & in Joint Consultative Committees Order 1985 (SI 1985 No 305) which have effect in England & Wales. Recent guidance concerning joint consultative committees & their functions has been issued in circulars HSG(92)43 & LAC(92)17 in Library.
