- Statement on steps to encourage trade associations to provide an effective voice in representing the needs of business to Government. - Inc fact that to support efforts of trade associations to promote competitiveness of their sectors, am inviting them to submit proposals for "competitiveness clubs" to carry out benchmarking studies of processes important to their sectors. Allocating up to £0.5 million to support 10 or so most attractive schemes. Placing copies of speech to CBI in Library.
