Question
What (a) salary, (b) fees, (c) emoluments and (d) benefits in kind the ambassador designate to Saudi Arabia received as a non-executive director of Vickers whilst on secondment from the Foreign Office.
Answer

Mr. McNamara: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what (a) salary, (b) fees, (c) emoluments and (d) benefits in kind the ambassador designate to Saudi Arabia received as a non-executive director of Vickers while on secondment from the Foreign Office. [8546] Mr. Hanley: The ambassador-designate to Saudi Arabia is an established member of Her Majesty's diplomatic service. He has therefore received no salary, fees, emoluments or benefits in kind as a non-executive director. Vickers has, however, met the travelling expenses to enable him to attend board meetings in the UK.
