Mr. Gale: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he intends to submit an application to the European Union on behalf of the United Kingdom for assistance under the agrimonetary compensation scheme. [21163] Mr. Rooker: [holding answer 16 December 1997]: We are considering what further action might be necessary to alleviate the position of farmers affected by currency movements and other developments affecting income.
