Question: If he will list the donations given by the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund to persons and organisations in Pendle for each year since 1992. - Inc figs.

Answer: Mr. Gordon Prentice: To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will list the donations given by the Duchy of Lancaster Benevolent Fund to persons and organisations in Pendle for each year since 1992. [1200] Mr. David Clark: I would point out to my hon. Friend that I am not a trustee of the Duchy Benevolent Fund. Audited accounts of the fund are forwarded to the Charity Commissioners each year. I understand that it is the policy of the trustees not to give details of individual recipients who receive grants from the Duchy Benevolent Fund although the trustees have no objection to recipients giving this information. In order to help my hon. Friend, the secretary of the fund has provided details of total amounts paid to organisations and individuals in the Pendle area from the Benevolent Fund for the past four years: 1993: £250 1994: £1,400 1995: £1,500 1996: £5,170.
