- What discussions he has had with the Data Protection Registrar on (a) the use, by the Security Services, of the exemptions in section 28 of the Data Protection Act 1984 and (b) the use, by the police, of the exemptions in section 27 of the Data Protection Act 1984. - I have had no such discussions.

Mr. Cohen: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what discussions he has had with the Data Protection Registrar on (a) the use, by the Security Services, of the exemptions in section 28 of the Data Protection Act 1984 and (b) the use, by the police, of the exemptions in section 27 of the Data Protection Act 1984; and if he will make a statement.
