Question
What guidelines his Department issues on the maximum safe daily dosage of fluoride. - Inc fact that no guidelines have been issued. The Committee on Medical Aspects of Food Policy's report on health and social subjects 41, published in 1991, gives details of the safe intake of fluoride for infants, children and adults. Copies of the fluoride chapter in the Library as Dep/3 4853.

Mr. Chris Smith: To ask the Secretary of State for Health what guidelines his Department issues on the maximum safe daily dosage of fluoride. [21356] Mr. Malone: No guidelines have been issued. The Committee on Medical Aspects of Food Policy's report on health and social subjects 41 (sixth impression), which was first published by the Department of Health in 1991, gives details of the safe intake of fluoride for infants, children and adults. Copies of the fluoride chapter in the COMA publication will be placed in the Library.
