Answer: Mr. Howarth: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the average amount of time spent in custody by those convicted prisoners on remand awaiting sentencing at HMP Holloway who eventually received non-custodial sentences, in the most recent year for which figures are available. [20704] Miss Widdecombe: Responsibility for this matter has been delegated to the Director General of the Prison Service, who has been asked to arrange for a reply to be given.
