Question
Under what EU instrument a decision was made empowering EU institutions to insist on the use of the EU logo by recipients of EU grants; if it was decided by majority voting; and what was Her Majesty's Government's position at the time.
Answer

Mr. Marlow: To ask the Secretary for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs under what EU instrument a decision was made empowering EU institutions to insist on the use of the EU logo by recipients of EU grants; if it was decided by majority voting; and what was Her Majesty's Government's position at the time. [20439] Mr. David Davis: Council regulation 2082/93 requires that member states ensure adequate publicity is given to measures carried out with financial assistance from the structural funds. Commission decision 94/342/EC sets out the detailed arrangements, including use of the EU logo, in accordance with the Council regulation. The Council regulation was adopted unanimously as one of a package of six regulations concerning the structural funds.
