Mr. Cox: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the total budget of his Department for the current year for land mine clearance; and if he will make a statement. [19563] Dr. Liam Fox: We have committed over £3.9 million to new mine clearance activities since 1 April 1996. Final outturn for the financial year 1996-97 will be available in June. Additionally, the UK share of European Community commitments for the calendar year 1996 is nearly £7.5 million.
