- Question
- How many representations he has received concerning the impact of his rate support grant allocation on the work of LEAs in Wales.
- Answer
-
Mr. Barry Jones: To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many representations he has received concerning the impact of his rate support grant allocation on the work of local education authorities in Wales. [19207] Mr. Jonathan Evans: I have received many representations about the effect of the 1997-98 local government revenue settlement on the work of LEAs. It is, however, for each local authority to decide how much of its available resources to allocate to individual services such as education taking account of its statutory duties and its perception of local needs and priorities.
