Mr. McFall: To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on Strathclyde police's statement regarding an alleged assault in a cell in Easterhouse police office on 14 February. [17114] Lord James Douglas-Hamilton: I understand that a man has been charged with attempted murder following the assault and that a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal in Glasgow and that the matter is under further investigation. It would be inappropriate, therefore, to comment further at present.
