Mr. David Marshall: To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list the total number of electors for each of the new parliamentary constituencies in Wales for the 1997-98 register of electors effective from 16 February. [16214] Mr. Hague: The Office for National Statistics is preparing a monitor detailing numbers of electors on the 1997 electoral register for each of the new parliamentary constituencies. This will be published by early April 1997 and a copy will be placed in the Library on the day of publication. The numbers of electors on the 1996 electoral register for the new parliamentary constituencies in the United Kingdom were published in July 1996 by ONS in Monitor EL 96/2, a copy of which is in the Library of the House.
