To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what assessment he has made of the conclusions of Taskforce 2000 published on 11th November in respect of his Department's most recent quarterly return on plans and progress towards Year 2000 readiness.

Mr. Chope: To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what assessment he has made of the conclusions of Task Force 2000 published on 11 November in respect of his Department's most recent quarterly return on plans and progress towards Year 2000 readiness. [60221] Mr. Chris Smith: I have noted the Task Force 2000 report. My Department expects to be fully Year 2000 compliant by March 1999. The compliance programme has also been audited by my Department's internal auditors. The results of the next quarterly review will be announced shortly to the House and copies of DCMS' latest quarterly return will be placed in the Libraries of the House and published on the Internet.
