Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, what plans there are for the disposal of the genetically-modified crops grown as a result of the full-scale farm trials announced on 21st October. - Includes ref to Dir90/220/EEC.

Answer: Mr. Baker: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what plans there are for the disposal of the genetically modified crops grown as a result of the full-scale farm trials announced on 21 October. [60250] Mr. Meale: For the farm-scale releases which are conducted under part C approval (marketing consent) of Directive 90/220/EEC, the crops may be used in accordance with the scope set out in the original marketing notification. For those conducted under part B approval (research purposes) the release consent will specify the method of disposal.
