Question: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, what assessment he has made of the conclusions of Taskforce 2000 published on 11th November in respect of his Department's most recent quarterly return on plans and progress towards Year 2000 readiness.

Answer: Mr. Chope: To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what assessment he has made of the conclusions of Taskforce 2000 published on 11 November in respect of his Department's most recent quarterly return on plans and progress towards Year 2000 readiness. [60225] Mr. Morley: I note that the Taskforce 2000 analysis published on 11 November concludes that MAFF has made good progress with its millennium programme. We remain on schedule to complete work on business-critical systems by April 1999, but recognise that much work still remains to be done, for which resources have been allocated, if we are to achieve that target. The results of the next quarterly review will be announced shortly to the House and copies of MAFF's latest quarterly return will be placed in the Library of the House and published on the Internet.
