Ms Walley: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what plans he has to direct English Nature to revise its criteria for inclusion on the inventory of ancient woodland to cover smaller woods; and if he will make a statement. [59923] Mr. Meale: There are practical difficulties associated with extending the scope of the inventory, which already identifies ancient woodland of higher than average value for wildlife in England.
