Answer

Mr. Webb: To ask the Chairman of the Information Committee when he expects the CD-ROM version of the Official Report for the remainder of the 1997-98 session to be made available to hon. Members; and what steps he is taking to reduce the time between the end of a Session and the release of the corresponding CD-ROM. [59398] Mr. Allan: The CD-ROM version of the Official Report for the period from Easter 1998 until the summer recess will become available next month. The disk containing the proceedings for the remainder of the Session is expected to be produced by March 1999. Discussions with the Stationery Office as producers of the disk, are currently taking place about ways of ensuring more expeditious production of the necessary data and improved methods of data quality control, both of which may contribute to reduced delivery times.
