Mr. Beith: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to create a new position for the overseeing of the health care services for young offenders in custody; and if he will make a statement. [58461] Mr. George Howarth: Health care in young offender institutions, in common with other Prison Service establishments, is delivered through the local operational line and supported by Prison Service area health care and nursing advisers. The Prison Service has no plans to create a new position specifically to oversee health care for young offenders. However, the future organisation of prison health care is currently under review.
