To ask the Prime Minister what are the duties and responsibilities of the new Minister of State in the Cabinet Office.

Sir Raymond Powell: To ask the Prime Minister what are the duties and responsibilities of the new Minister of State in the Cabinet Office. [54704] The Prime Minister: My noble Friend Lord Falconer of Thoroton QC will work with the Minister for the Cabinet Office in pressing forward the coherent formulation and implementation of policy across Government and the delivery of better services across the public sector. He will play a key role in ensuring greater co-ordination of policies across Government. He will also lead in monitoring the overall performance of the Government in terms of specific policy objectives and policy outcomes, building on the Government's Annual Report published in July. My noble Friend Lord Falconer will answer in the House of Lords for those matters on which the Minister for the Cabinet Office answers in this House.
