Mr. Jenkins: To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what steps he is taking to tackle skill shortages in the West Midlands. [51910] Dr. Howells: In the last budget, £6.544 million was allocated to the West Midlands for projects specifically aimed at addressing skills shortages through the Skills Challenge and Centres of Excellence for IT and High Technology prospectus.
