Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, for how long those who have applied in the Philippines for settlement in the United Kingdom as the wife of a British citizen have had to wait on average for a decision in the last year. - Includes figures.

Answer: Sir Peter Lloyd: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs for how long those who have applied in the Philippines for settlement in the United Kingdom as the wife of a British citizen have had to wait on average for a decision in the last year. [51230] Mr. Fatchett: In the last year, the average waiting time in Manila for an interview for a settlement visa has been 8 weeks. In almost all cases, a decision on the application is taken immediately following the interview and the applicant informed at the same time.
