Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, what figure has been (a) agreed and (b) paid in respect of compensation payments to tenderers for the DBFO project to build the Polegate Bypass. - Includes figures.

Answer: Mr. Waterson: To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what figure has been (a) agreed and (b) paid in respect of compensation payments to tenderers for the DBFO project to build the Polegate Bypass. [43202] Ms Glenda Jackson: The claims from the tenders for the cancelled Weald and Downland DBFO project, which included the Polegate Bypass, raise a number of detailed issues which will inevitably take some time to resolve. In the meantime, we have made interim payments on account totalling £1.30 million (excluding VAT); the final settlement will be published in due course.
