Question: To ask the President of the Board of Trade, pursuant to her Answer of 29th April, Official Report 311 c151-2W, what is the total value of Export Credits Guarantee Department claims made by manufacturers, but not recovered from the courts of (a) Venezuela, (b) Jordan, (c) Kenya, (d) Egypt and (e) Algeria. - Inc table.

Answer: Ann Clwyd: To ask the President of the Board of Trade, pursuant to her answer of 29 April 1998, Official Report, column 151-52, what is the total value of Export Credits Guarantee Department claims made by manufacturers, but not recovered from the courts of (a) Venezuela, (b) Jordan, (c) Kenya, (d) Egypt and (e) Algeria. [41460] Mrs. Roche: From records readily available, the total level of ECGD claims outstanding on these markets as at 31 March 1998 was as follows: _________________________________________________________________________________________________. £ million Algeria 172 Egypt 386 Jordan 278 Kenya 41 Venezuela 1 _________________________________________________________________________________________________. ECGD does not maintain its records on a basis which would enable it to provide the additional breakdown requested without disproportionate cost.
