Mr. Baker: To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what conclusions have been reached following the pilot of the central media monitoring unit; and if he will make a statement. [40677] Dr. David Clark: The pilot was considered a success by its users, and the Media Monitoring Unit was established permanently from 1 April 1998. Its daily summary is available in the libraries of the House, as promised by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in his answer to the hon. Member for Mid-Bedfordshire (Mr. Sayeed) on 4 February 1998, Official Report, column 668.
