Mr. Alan Johnson: To ask the Secretary of State for Health what representations he has received about establishing a professional register for ambulance technicians and paramedics; and if he will make a statement. [39770] Mr. Milburn: My noble Friend the Minister of State met the Ambulance Services Association on 11 February 1998 and asked to be kept informed of the profession's efforts in working towards recognition as a profession supplementary to medicine.
